How To Connect To The Internet

  1. Double-click on the CVC Internet icon, or Dial (your username) CVC Internet icon, on your desktop.

  2. This will open the Connect To window. In this window, make sure the username is listed in the username box, then type the password in lowercase in the password box (if the password is automatically listed, do not enter any information). At the bottom of the Connect To window, click on the Connect button.

  3. In the next window, you will notice the modem dialing into the server, then the verification of password and username by the server. Once the connection is established, the connection speed and time will appear.

  4. Next, if the browser does not automatically open for you, double-click the Netscape (Navigator/Communicator) or Microsoft Explorer icon, on the desktop.

  5. When the browser opens, CVC Internet's website will appear. Below the lightening storm graphic is several small clickable buttons. Each button is linked to the following pages below:

    Services - Information and prices for CVC Internet's services.
    Business Sites - Links to business websites with CVC Internet, plus information on domain name registration and domain accounts.
    Members Pages - Links to CVC member's personal pages, and information on personal directories.
    Help Guide - Helpful tips, instructions sheets and downloads.
    Klamath County Directory - The Internet guide to businesses, services and events in Klamath County.
    Calendar of Events - Upcoming events in Klamath County.
    Weather - 24 hour weather forecasts, for anywhere in the world.
    Web Links - Clickable links to popular websites on the Internet, according to various topics: business, employment, educational, entertainment, financial, government, health, just for kids, news, weather, sports and travel.
    Internet Search - 30 worldwide Search Engines and Directories, to help locate a website on the Internet according to topic, service, person, place or thing.
    Web E-mail - The easy to use, no programming required, web interface e-mail program. Free to all CVC member's.

To end your connection to the Internet, click on the File menu at the top of the browser window and select Close.
Then click the disconnect button in the connection window.
