| 677 | A person answered instead of a modem. | Make sure your computer is dialing the correct number, if it is- dial it on your phone to find out what the person says. |
| 678 | There is no answer. | The computer you called did not pick up, make sure you are dialing the correct #. |
| 679 | Cannot detect carrier. | Phone line problem, contact your phone company. |
| 680 | There is no dial tone. | The computer waited to see if it was ok to dial, but could not hear the dial tone so it did not dial. |
