Configurations for CVC Internet
Please Note: These
instructions are for users
who have experience setting up software programs.
If you notice a difference in
setup windows, please take the general
information listed below and apply them in the appropriate windows.

WITHOUT YOUR WINDOWS OPERATING SYSTEM CD/DISKS

1.) Open Microsoft Outlook.
If a Connection Wizard or a Connect To Window appear, cancel
it.
2.) Click on the Tools Menu (at the top of the Outlook
window), and select Accounts.
3.) In the Properties window, click on the General tab, then complete the
following:
- In the field, under the Mail Account heading, type in lowercase,
no spaces:
mail.cvc.net
- Under the User Information heading, in the Name field: enter your name,
as you
would like it to appear on your e-mail's.
- In the E-mail Address field, enter: your e-mail address (in lowercase, no spaces)
- The Organization and Reply Address fields are optional, only enter an
e-mail address
if it's different than the E-mail Address field.
- Check the option Include this account in a Send and Receive All
(click on the
box, to place a check mark in this window).
4.) At the top of the Properties window, click on the Servers tab, then
complete the following:
- Under the heading Server information, make sure the first line reads:
My incoming mail server is a POP 3 server.
- In the Incoming mail (POP3) field, enter: mail.cvc.net (lowercase, no spaces)
- In the Outgoing mail (SMTP) field, enter: mail.cvc.net (lowercase, no spaces)
- Under the heading Incoming mail server, select the option Log on
using.
- In the field of Account name: enter your CVC username (lowercase,
Do Not
enter @cvc.net)
- In the field of Password: enter your CVC password (lowercase)
- Select the option Remember password (click on the box, to enter a check
mark).
- Make sure the option Log on using Secure Password Authentication,
is Not Selected.
- Under the heading of Outgoing mail server, make sure the option My
server requires authentication, Is Selected.
5.) At the top of the Properties window, click on the Connection tab,
then complete the following:
- Under the Connection heading, select the option Connect
using my phone line.
- Under the Modem heading, Use the following Dial-Up Networking
connection: select CVC Internet
6.) At the top of the Properties window, click on the Advanced
tab, then complete the following:
- Under the heading Server port numbers: Outgoing mail should
be set to 25
and Incoming mail should be set at 110.
- Make sure (both Outgoing and Incoming) This Server requires a secure
connection (SSL),
is Not Selected.
- Server timeouts: should be at least 30 seconds long.
- Under the Delivery heading, make sure the option Leave a copy of
messages on server,
is Not Selected.
7.) At the bottom of the Properties window, click on the Apply button,
then click OK (to save your changes and return to the Internet Accounts
page). At the bottom of the Internet Accounts window, click Close.
Your done! For information on using e-mail, refer to the Help Menu located
within the software program.
